Someone from Fevlado told us about an interesting master's thesis project of Isabelle Smessaerts. She has interviewed 12 teenagers who attend normal schools about their school experiences. I don't know a lot about this research yet (I have an appointment with Isabelle, who happens to live in Maastricht as well, tonight), but you might want to check out her blog already.

Research on school experiences of deaf teenagers
